About Castling Financial

Built for people who read the filings

Castling turns EDGAR filing data into clear, comparable financial insight for investors, analysts, and anyone curious about how companies perform: annual fundamentals, reported segments, and material company updates.

Search a ticker, scan trends across years, and drill into the statements behind the numbers. Fast, clean, and always two moves ahead.

Why we built it

Research shouldn't feel like a chore

It started with frustration. Pulling the numbers you actually need meant bouncing between Google Finance, Yahoo Finance, and a dozen other sites, each with slow, clunky interfaces that got in the way. Castling exists to make filing data fast, clean, and trustworthy to reach.

Castle AI and MCP

Ground answers in filing data

General-purpose models often invent or misstate financial figures when they rely on memory alone. Asking them to scrape the web in chat is not a reliable way to get accurate filing figures either.

Answers cite published data

Castle AI and MCP connectors pull from Castling's filing-backed warehouse — KPIs, statements, screens, compares, and material 8-Ks — so answers can cite published data instead of guessing.

Retrieval reduces risk, not to zero

Grounding answers in filings cuts hallucination risk sharply, but it does not eliminate it. Every figure carries its source so you can check the filing yourself.

Source of truth

Castling starts with what companies file on EDGAR. Statement cells map to XBRL tags, periods, and units. Overview metrics come from annual filings with clear provenance on every value that is present. Segments break revenue and other metrics across reported business, geography, and product members. Company Updates shows material Form 8-Ks from EDGAR in an in-app reader, not a market news wire. We do not use third-party vendor estimates.

Consistent over time

The Overview organizes filing data into comparable metrics across fiscal years. When a number is present, you can see whether it was reported from a tag, filled from a canonical field, derived from filing sources, or adjusted for splits. When it cannot be sourced from filings, it stays blank rather than guessed.

Transparent limits

We aim for high accuracy, but perfect coverage across every filer, metric, and year is not realistic in automated financial data. Companies use different tags, restate prior periods, and file amendments. When something looks wrong, our pipeline is built for traceability, so we can find whether the issue is in the filing, our ingest, or our presentation, and fix it. If something looks wrong on your data, we welcome a report as it helps us improve.
